Canceling Your Account
We hope you never need this page, but if you do decide to cancel your Deal Run subscription, we have made the process straightforward and transparent. There are no cancellation fees, no hoops to jump through, and no phone calls required. This guide explains exactly how to cancel, what happens to your account and data afterward, how to come back if you change your mind, and some alternatives worth considering before you cancel.
How to cancel
- Log in to Deal Run and navigate to your Account page.
- In the Subscription section, click "Manage Subscription". This opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab.
- In the portal, click "Cancel plan" or "Cancel subscription".
- Stripe will ask you to confirm. You may be shown a brief feedback form asking why you are canceling -- this is optional but helps us improve the product.
- Click "Confirm cancellation".
That is it. The entire process takes less than a minute. You will receive a confirmation email from Stripe at your billing email address, and your Account page in Deal Run will update to show the cancellation status.
What happens when you cancel
You keep access through the end of your billing period
Cancellation does not take effect immediately. When you cancel, your subscription is scheduled to end at the conclusion of your current billing period. If your billing cycle runs from the 1st to the 30th and you cancel on the 10th, you still have full access to every Deal Run feature until the 30th. You have already paid for that time, and you get to use it.
Your Account page will show a notice like: "Your plan will be canceled on [date]. You have full access until then."
During this wind-down period, everything works normally:
- You can run deal searches (up to your remaining monthly limit)
- You can skip trace investors (free on all paid plans)
- You can send emails and texts (Pro and Pro+)
- You can create and edit deals, marketing pages, and buyer lists
- You can export data to CSV
We recommend using this period to export any data you want to keep. While your data is preserved after cancellation (see below), it is always good practice to maintain your own copy of important information.
After your billing period ends
Once your billing period expires, your account moves to an inactive state. Here is what changes:
- You can still log in. Your Deal Run account is not deleted. You can still access the app and view your data.
- Read-only access. You can view your deals, buyer list, search history, and marketing pages, but you cannot run new deal searches, trace new contacts, or send blasts.
- Published marketing pages go offline. Any deal marketing pages you had published will be taken down. The URLs will show a "This page is no longer available" message. If you re-subscribe, your pages can be republished.
- No further charges. You will not be billed again unless you choose to re-subscribe.
Data retention policy
Your data is preserved for 90 days after your subscription ends. During this 90-day window, everything you built in Deal Run -- your deals, buyer list with all traced contact information, search history, marketing pages, comp analyses, notes, tags, and account settings -- remains intact in our database.
This 90-day retention window exists specifically so you can come back without losing your work. Wholesaling is cyclical. Deals slow down, markets shift, life happens. We do not want you to lose months of accumulated buyer data and deal history because you needed to pause for a few weeks.
After 90 days, your data may be permanently deleted. If you think you might re-subscribe but need more than 90 days, contact support@dealrun.ai before the retention window expires and we can arrange an extension.
What data is preserved
- All deals and their associated property data, notes, and stage history
- Your complete buyer list with all contact information, tags, and interaction history
- All skip trace results (phone numbers, email addresses, names)
- All deal search history and cached results
- Marketing page content, photos, and view/engagement analytics
- Comp analysis selections and repair estimates
- Email and SMS blast history, including delivery and engagement metrics
- Account settings and preferences
What is not preserved
- Active marketing page URLs (pages are taken offline, but the content is preserved for re-publishing)
- Scheduled but unsent email/SMS campaigns (these are canceled at the end of your billing period)
Re-subscribing after cancellation
If you decide to come back to Deal Run after canceling, the process is simple:
- Log in to Deal Run with your existing credentials (Google, Apple, or email -- whichever you used originally).
- Navigate to your Account page.
- Select a plan and complete the Stripe checkout.
- Your account is immediately restored to full functionality.
If you are within the 90-day data retention window, all of your data is restored immediately. Your deals, buyer list, skip trace cache, search history, and marketing pages will all be exactly where you left them. It is as if you never left.
You can re-subscribe to any plan -- it does not have to be the same plan you had before. If you previously had Pro+ and want to come back on Pro, that works fine. Your data is preserved regardless of which plan you choose.
Canceling an annual subscription
If you are on an annual plan, the cancellation process is the same, but the timing works differently. When you cancel an annual subscription, your access continues through the end of the 12-month period you paid for. If you paid for an annual Pro plan starting January 1st and cancel on March 15th, you still have full access until December 31st.
Annual subscriptions are non-refundable by default. You paid for 12 months of service, and you receive 12 months of service. However, if you are canceling due to extenuating circumstances -- a business closure, a medical issue, or a situation where the product genuinely did not deliver what was promised -- contact support@dealrun.ai and we will review your case for a prorated refund. We handle these on a case-by-case basis and aim to be fair.
No cancellation fees or penalties
Deal Run does not charge cancellation fees. There are no early termination penalties on monthly plans (annual plans are addressed above). You will not be charged a processing fee, an account closure fee, or any other hidden cost. The last charge on your account will be your most recent subscription payment. Period.
Before you cancel: alternatives to consider
Canceling is always an option, but here are a few alternatives that might better address whatever is prompting you to leave:
Downgrade to Pro instead
If cost is the primary concern and you are on Pro+, consider downgrading to the Pro plan at $99/month (annual) instead of canceling entirely. Both plans include the full platform -- you just get lower usage limits on Pro. You maintain your account, all your data, and every feature. If business picks up again, you can upgrade back to Pro+ instantly. See our Upgrading or Downgrading guide for details.
Switch to annual billing
If you like Deal Run but the monthly cost feels steep, switching to annual billing saves 16%. The Pro plan drops from $99/month ($1,188/year) to $999/year -- a savings of $189. That might make the difference between "worth it" and "too expensive." See our Annual vs. Monthly Billing guide.
Talk to us
If something about the product is not working for you -- a feature is missing, something is confusing, the data is not matching your market -- we want to hear about it. Send us an email at support@dealrun.ai describing what is not working, and we will do our best to address it. We are a small team that ships fast, and user feedback directly influences our development priorities.
Feedback form
When you cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal, you may see an optional feedback form asking why you are leaving. This feedback is genuinely read by our team and is one of the most valuable inputs we receive for product development. If you have a moment, we would appreciate hearing your reason. Common feedback categories include:
- Too expensive for my current deal volume
- Missing a specific feature I need
- Switching to a different platform
- Pausing my wholesaling business temporarily
- Data quality did not meet my expectations
- Other
Whatever your reason, thank you for giving Deal Run a try. If you do come back, your data will be waiting for you.
