Salesmsg Integration
Salesmsg is a general-purpose SMB business texting platform with proper 10DLC registration and a clean conversational inbox. If you're not ready for OpenPhone's full phone system but you want real TCPA-safe business SMS (not Google Voice's silently-dropping mess), Salesmsg is a solid alternative. Use Deal Run to find and draft messages to investors, use Salesmsg to actually send them.
Why Salesmsg over Google Voice
- 10DLC registered. Salesmsg handles 10DLC brand and campaign registration for you, so your texts aren't silently filtered by carriers the way Google Voice texts are.
- Shared inbox. If you have a team, multiple users can see and respond to the same conversation thread.
- Opt-out handling. Salesmsg automatically recognizes "STOP" and adds the sender to your DNC list — you don't accidentally keep texting someone who asked to stop.
- MMS support. You can send property photos over SMS, which Google Voice also supports but unreliably.
Step 1: Set up Salesmsg and register for 10DLC
- Sign up at salesmsg.com. Plans start around $25/mo.
- Buy a local number in your market's area code.
- Complete the 10DLC registration form — Salesmsg walks you through it. You need your LLC name, EIN, and a sample message template. Registration typically takes 1–2 business days.
- Once approved, your number is registered for business messaging and carriers will deliver your texts reliably.
Important: Do not send any outbound SMS before 10DLC registration is approved. Carriers will heavily filter or block unregistered messaging, and it can hurt your number's reputation permanently.
Step 2: Put your Salesmsg number in your Deal Run profile
- In Deal Run, go to Account > Dispo Profile.
- Enter your Salesmsg number as your primary phone.
- This makes it the contact number on your marketing pages, PDFs, and AI message drafts — so when investors save you to their phone, they save your business line.
Step 3: Send a message to an investor (from your phone)
- Open the Deal Run mobile app and go to Sell > Outreach on a deal.
- Find an investor and tap Text.
- Deal Run opens a draft modal with an AI-written first message, the investor's phone number, and a short tracking URL for your deal marketing page.
- Tap Copy to copy the message text to your clipboard.
- Switch to the Salesmsg mobile app, start a new conversation with the investor's number, paste, and send.
- Back in Deal Run, the Text button is now styled as "Sent" — tap Log Interaction to mark the outcome (sent / delivered / replied).
This whole flow is about 15 seconds per investor once you're in rhythm. Faster than any desktop copy-paste dance.
Step 4: Track replies in Salesmsg's shared inbox
Replies come into your Salesmsg inbox. When an investor responds, you see the conversation thread in Salesmsg, not Deal Run. Paste the relevant bits into Deal Run's Log Interaction note field so the deal's communication history stays complete.
There is no automatic reply sync with Salesmsg today (on the roadmap — API support is under evaluation). If you want automatic inbound capture right now, use OpenPhone instead.
TCPA checklist for every send
10DLC registration makes you carrier-compliant. It does not make you TCPA-compliant. Before you send any text to an investor:
- Check the DNC / TCPA litigator flag in Deal Run. If either is red, do not text.
- Keep first-touch texts under 160 characters. Longer messages get split into multiple parts and look like spam.
- Identify yourself in the first line. "Hey [name], it's [you] from [company]" — always.
- Include opt-out. Every first-touch text should end with "Reply STOP to opt out."
- Respect STOP immediately. If they reply STOP, mark the contact as DNC in Deal Run and never text that number again.
